I suck at Baking

I had to make something home made for a club bake sale. But I suck at baking a lot of the times, like I end up burning them or something goes wrong. Even though I followed the instructions on the box. Well I made cookie cake- which for me is cookie dough mix thrown into a round cake pan and baked. I've made it like twice before and it usually turns out okay. But this one turned out really bad. The taste is fine but it was seriously soft and when I cut it, it was all mushy. So I tried to bake it for longer, which ended up burning the bottom. Thus it is ugly snicker-doodle cookie cake. Oh, well. I need club credit. Never baking again for bake sales. I will just buy like I usually do. I wonder if anyone will buy it? Poor sucker. Plus I only had 8 pieces that were really small. Maybe, it only works for chocolate chip, that's what I usually use.
